Our view of Downtown Toronto is the city is ‘still young’. Although Toronto has experienced much growth in the past 10 years to a ‘tier 2’ global city, it has a long way to go. All over the city, there remains much room for ‘highest and best’ use of many prime streets. The city needs investors to not only leverage ‘highest and best’ use but possess vision and passion to create ‘institutions’. Toronto has a long way to go to catch up to the great global cities of the world.
There is a need for cultural institutions to engage millennials, baby boomers, families and tourism. We want to aim to be a ‘destination’, not culturally hollow on weekends…we aim to be vibrant, not an empty corporate center.
